Any recommendations for good wellies? Supportive, comfy and easy to get on and off!

Just moved house and in a more rural area and would like some good wellies for dog walks.

Happy to pay reasonable money for decent ones that last.

I’ve worn Hunters half leg wellies since we got our dog 4 years ago. I find them warm and extremely comfortable and easy to get on and off as they are only the half leg version. They have literally just got a slight tear in the top of the foot and are letting water in so I will have to get a new pair but 4 years for approx £80 is good value to me. If we are away with the dog I can literally wear them for 10 hours a day and walking for a good few hours and I never feel desperate to take them off.
My husband has a long leg Barbour pair and he says his are extremely comfortable and warm as well.

Aigles Parcours Iso 2 for me. They're not cheap, but my last pair did 4 years of lengthy dog walks.

I love my hunters, I've had 2 pairs which have lasted me over 15 years. I have very long legs though and know my friends with shorter calves struggled but I think they do different fits now?

I have had Hunters in the past as they fit my skinny legs well. But for real comfort and waterproofing ...get some leather wellies. I have Ariat Langdales and they are SO comfy and despite walking the dog through bogs, streams, and general rural mud, they stay dry (and when cleanish they look nice too!)

Aigle - easily the most comfortable footwear I own, lined in neoprene so very warm. A big investment but mine are at leat 10 years old and like new, worn nearly every day for dog walking for at least 4 months of the year.

Hunters aren’t as good quality as they used to be and will split.
Aigle parcours or other neoprene lined are amazingly warm and comfy. I’ve just got some muck boots which are similar. Thick sole, so comfy, neoprene lined, can pull off without boot pull etc. Don’t need thick socks with them due to the lining which makes them so easy to get on and off. Introduced to neoprene lined/thick soles wellies as a farm vet and dog owner and haven’t looked back!

Thanks all. Looks like Aigle might be the winners.

Honestly - Dunlops for £12. We've had Hunters and Barbour and both failed within a really short time frame. I bought a pair of Dunlops thinking even if I had to replace them once a month it would still work out cheaper! They've been fab and I wear them every day dog walking. My DH bought a pair too after seeing how well i got on with them and he loves them too.

Normally I'm all for paying good money for a good product but in this case the good old fashioned product is the best for us!

vanillandhoney · 15/11/2020 23:31

Asda own brand.

I'm a dog walker and easily cover 15km a day. No sore feet, no blisters, no cracks or leaks. I've had mine over two years now.

Totally agree that the cheapest wellies seem to last longest. Have found this with kids wellies in particular. My own non branded black wellies have been going strong for about 15yrs!

nitgel · 15/11/2020 23:33

Muck boots ?

SnowyBerries · 15/11/2020 23:42

My Mantaray ones have lasted well if that brand still exists.

BluebellsGreenbells · 15/11/2020 23:44

I second Muck boots in the sales
