My husband has confused me by teasing me over many years and now I don’t know the answer to these two ridiculous things:
Is it Westfield or THE Westfield?
Is it Westway or THE Westway?
Surprisingly hard to Google a clear solution, it turns out, but I’m feeling gaslighted and annoyed about it. Please help!

Westfield (definitely)
The Westway (I think)

JorisBonson · 14/11/2020 21:51

If you're talking about the shopping centre that is...

Westfield
the Westway (which leads into the Marylebone Road, and runs parallel-ish to the Great West Road: they are the pair I find confusing!)

What Joris said. And your husband’s being a pillock.

Is there something else going on in your relationship? This seems something so very trivial to get worked up about.

PizzzaExpressWoking · 14/11/2020 21:58

Yes definitely Westfield (and Westfield Stratford, never Westfield East or worse Eastfield!!).

And The Westway, as in "Up and down the Westway, in and out the lights."

Twoshininglights · 14/11/2020 21:58

Definitely Westfield and The Westway

Goostacean · 14/11/2020 21:59

How many years of this would count as not-trivial...?

And many thanks for the answers Grin Especially the Blur link! I’ll never forget the answer now.

And yes, DH is being a pillock, I have told him repeatedly but he’s just very proud of himself for succeeding in this longstanding amusement...
