Morning all,

It's a gloomy rainy Saturday here and I'm lacking inspiration for what to do with my 3 year old. She'd normally have an activity today that is closed due to lockdown and I'll admit, I'm feeling a bit defeatist. Bored of scooter rides, bored of the same walks and playgrounds and parks. I'm a carer for my DP who can't be left more than 4 hrs ish on his own so no days out to other places, further afield. Bleugh.

What has anyone else got planned for today?

It's DBIL's dogs birthday today so me and 3yo DS are making and decorating a cake while DH watches the qualifying (through closed eyes probably as he's lying on the sofa nearly asleep at the moment). Obviously we won't be able to take the cake round to him, but we can take a photo and send that to him while we enjoy eating it after dinner Grin

We've been for the same boring walk as usual. I'm also very bored. This afternoon we have a video call with the grandparents planned. If it's not raining, we might go into town for a walk when it gets dark (so... 4pm) as my son send to enjoy looking at the lights.

Played with toys, going for a walk to the sea after lunch and might get an ice cream. Same as every other day!

Why not do some painting, or playdough? Dance party? Scavenger hunt always goes down well with my toddler. Find something red, something spiky, something you can eat etc etc. Keeps her busy and I can sit on the sofa 😜

DH has just tried making salt dough xmas decs with 3yo DS and 1yo dd. About an hours worth of set up, roll out, cleaning up for about 15 minutes of interest!

We've played with toys all morning so the house is a tip.

Might as well go the whole hog and attempt some baking this afternoon.

We’ve been to the park, now hes having his telly time, after that we’re finishing our Diwali decorations before celebrating later.

In about six hours we will feel ill from far far too much food and dancing.

Shit loads of tiny pop whilst I feed my newborn- I think a trip to Sainsbury’s will be the highlight of her day. This afternoon I said we’d make puppets- cut out characters from a magazine on lollipop sticks

My 3 year old has been playing with the Brio this morning (as well as the CBeebies app on the iPad). Not sure I'll get them out for a walk today- maybe a play in the garden as they have a new basketball hoop which is still a novelty.

We're parked up outside the chippy. DH has gone in for battered sausage and chips which we will eat at the beach 5 minutes away. Quick run about in the wind then home.

Check out some Instagram pages for activities...like the 5 minute mum.

I took the children for a bike round round the park in the rain earlier, saw lots of neighbours walking their dogs to say hello to.
Back for hot chocolate, DC have been playing together with Lego since. Lunch soon.
This afternoon we need to make Christmas cards so there will be a lot of craft stuff out. Film and homemade popcorn later.

LemonDrizzles · 14/11/2020 13:41

I looked up how to make paper mache earlier as my little one has to self isolate for the next two weeks.
