How to get rid of books?

Hi - would appreciate any bright ideas. We have had a big clean out and have a large number (>100) books we’d like to dispose of. There are a few different “types”:

  • nice art type books, hardback, heavy, glossy
  • novels, paperbacks etc
  • “business” books
  • out of date academic textbooks

I’m not fussed about getting money for them particularly but don’t want to throw them in the bin! Is there anywhere you can sell/donate to? Or failing that a book recycling type place where they get pulled? We’re in london.

TIA

Are your libraries open? They might accept some if in good condition.

I sold some to music magpie and some to a local second hand bookshop. Its worth scanning them through the various selling apps as different ones want different books. Prices anywhere from £3.66 -2p.
The rest went to the second hand bookshop and he gave me £2, he was keen to have them and said bring anymore you have!

I put them in boxes outside my house, they all went.

Do you need to get rid of them immediately? A charity shop would take them when they are open again - Oxfam might be a good shout as they have Oxfam Bookshops where the specialist books might be welcome, plus they can put anything more valuable on eBay.

Donate to library when they open

Schools may take them
