Every time they (amazon) do an update things go screwy! So annoying!

Anyway I mainly use mine for streaming, I'm currently TRYING to watch the west wing on all4.

But I've noticed similar issues on other apps

Every 6-7 episodes or so it stops connecting to my WiFi (WiFi is working fine and other devices inc "old" kindle are connecting no problem at all)

Tonight a new issue - mid episode I got a message like "this content contains an error"

When I hit the back button 2 seasons of west wing had "disappeared" from the app.

Checked on phone as I thought maybe all4 had stopped showing? But no all seasons were there

Each time I have to restart the device and then it works again (but I have to wait the length of time it takes to "reboot" plus for it to "settle" and all the app icons appear on the display, it flickers a bit, plays about 10 secs of episode then drops back to apps main menu and I have to search "west wing" and then figure out and select the episode I was up to and restart it)

Yes I know first world problem but it's really annoying!

From previous experience I know that amazon somehow (probably in response to other customers complaining - I've mostly given up!) fixes the bugs in the update

Device works fine for approx 3 months...

Then there's another bloody unnecessary update! Angry

So my questions are:

Anyone else noticed this?

Anyone have tips on avoiding?

Anyone know how to fix current issue preferably WITHOUT going through amazon or messing with WiFi?

Previous experience of contacting amazon is they just tell me to factory reset the device which is a pita, cos I'd have to reinstall all the apps, customise everything again, unnecessary I feel for a minor issue and doesn't always in fact rarely works, or they tell me to turn my WiFi off and on - seems clear to me that despite my selecting the options for tech support the people I'm speaking to are actually utterly clueless and working off a script.

Just drives me nuts!

As I say it "settles" eventually (different minor issues with each update) but I wish they would learnt to apply "if it ain't broke don't fix it"!!
