I want something relatively accessible, but great quality. Not full of vegetable oil. I'm thinking maybe Tony's Chocoloney? No cadbury's, galaxy etc.

I just signed up for a subscription order of Tony’s Chocolony or however it’s spelt! Never even tasted it, I am so easily led!!

TheLightGetsIn · 13/11/2020 12:15

Agree with everyone saying that Booja Booja are lovely, but I think they only do boxes of truffles, not actual bars of chocolate?

SukiPutTheEarlGreyOn · 13/11/2020 12:37

Was recently given some handmade chocolate from Tosier which was astonishingly good. It’s now on my Christmas wish list.

Personally baffled at all the love for Tony's chocolate. I think it tastes like cheap xmas tree decoration chocolate.

magicstar1 · 13/11/2020 12:41

@LaurieFairyCake have you tried the different Aldi chocolate brands? The Dairyfine is bad...very cheap tasting. Choceur is lovely...standard bars and flavours and Moser Roth is the fancy range.

Just wondering if you've tried the different ones

LaurieFairyCake · 13/11/2020 12:51

I don't like any of them - I think they taste really cheap, even cheaper than Cadbury's does - good there's no palm oil though

ImperfectTents · 13/11/2020 13:12

www.chococo.co.uk

I love these guys

Southwest12 · 13/11/2020 13:57

Another vote for Paul A Young. So pleased they've set up an online shop, I'm going to treat myself for my birthday!

Dowser · 13/11/2020 15:57

I like hotel chocolat
Seed and bean
Vivaldi
Toblerone dark
Montezumas
BLack and greens
All dairy free
Bendicks mints

Dowser · 13/11/2020 15:59

Hotel chocolat rose and violet creams are nice

JuniLoolaPalooza · 13/11/2020 16:06

I like Ritter Sport and I'm getting on OK with Tony's. I do agree it's a bit advent calendar but you get used to it and they're a good company.
There's also Love Cocoa by James Cadbury but they don't seem to just do a simple bar of milk choc which is all I really want. Sick of salted caramel

LadyofMisrule · 13/11/2020 16:58

Lick the Spoon are amazing.

www.lickthespoon.co.uk/

Not only do they taste amazing, their packaging is all environmentally friendly (home compostable plastic), their ingredients are ethical and checked to make sure they don't exploit their workers, and they have made sure that their factory is as carbon friendly as possible.

I had a box of The Bish for my birthday, and I'm saving the last two to go with wine tonight.

LadyofMisrule · 13/11/2020 17:00

I tried Tony's Chocolony recently and couldn't understand why it was so popular. It tasted like Poundland's non-branded.

helloxhristmas · 13/11/2020 17:02

Co op fair trade is delicious for not serious money.

Madbengalmum · 13/11/2020 17:03

Hotel Chocolat is horrible now, overpriced rubbish.

Montezumas/Roccoco/Chococo all nice.

Madbengalmum · 13/11/2020 17:04

Oh, and I forgot Divine! Great chocolate.

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 13/11/2020 19:21

You can get 3 Divine advent calendars for £5 including delivery from Yankee bundles at the moment! Not sure they'll hang around long at that price Shock

milk chocolate

dark chocolate

dementedma · 13/11/2020 19:36

I bought a Ritter Sport in Lidl as was attracted by festive packaging. I had to bin it. The first time ever I've found chocolate too vile to eat. WTF is in that stuff?
Agree Moser Roth is lovely.

WhiskersPete · 13/11/2020 19:43

Tony's chocolonely is the best...10 times nicer than hotel choc! Aldi Moser Roth is better than most standard choc as no palm oil.

capercaillie · 13/11/2020 19:46

Montezuma - just lovely chocolate! Love the dark with lime and sea salt. Cherry one also lovely.

CityDweller · 13/11/2020 19:53

Hotel Choc is gag. Nasty cheap chocolate (waxy, tasteless) dressed up in fancy clothes.

My go-to is Lindt for everyday. Paul Young for special occasions (the salted caramel truffles are amazing)

HermioneWeasley · 13/11/2020 19:55

Leonidas is my favourite, above Godiva or Valrohna or any of the other premium brands

InvisibleToEveryone · 13/11/2020 19:56

kernow chocolate blooming delicious and made in Cornwall.

I went to the factory and it smelt divine, watching liquid chocolate pour out of taps, was like something out of Willy Wonka .

Marchitectmummy · 13/11/2020 20:06

Agree with others Paul A Young and Montezuma, no one has mentioned Love Cocoa but that's nice, its a very small brand but started by a couple the guy is a relative of Cadbury.

EasilyDepleted · 13/11/2020 20:09

Montezuma's for me. I don't like Tony's at all, it tastes like cheap cooking chocolate.
