Morrisons 10% off

I saw that Morrison’s have extended their 10% off to early years practitioners as well as teachers. I was wondering if anyone has used this and what proof they ask for? As far as I know most early years practitioners don’t have photo identification as such so how does it work. My employer was thinking of making all us staff ID cards but unsure if they will accept them?

Everyone at our school has id, even the cleaners. You need your pass to open all the exterior doors.

Thefaceofboe · 12/11/2020 19:18

Yeah but what if you don’t use passes and ID badges? Most nurseries and early years settings don’t.

@Countdowntonothing yeah I guess that could work as I have them all downloaded to my phone. I don’t see why they wouldn’t accept it

It says on the website valid photo ID so just worried they won’t accept anything else.

I’ve tried my school name badge with my passport and a payslip but my local Morrison’s said no. We don’t have photo school ID, our badges just have our name and the school logo.

I'm a childminder. Tried my Ofsted certificate but no.

But then they also said I "wasn't really a keyworker" in the first lockdown, even though I was working for NHS staff.

Thefaceofboe · 12/11/2020 19:58

@copernicium how annoying for you! Morrison’s did officially say early years are now included in the discount so hopefully it’s different now

@BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou maybe they’ve said this knowing not many people can actually use it? Therefore it looks good on them but doesn’t really benefit many people

@Thefaceofboe I tried after the announcement. I was impressed we'd finally been recognised! But no. They said it's individual stores discretion.

PersianStar · 12/11/2020 20:13

We ask for a current payslip and photo ID to match the name, so a driving license for example.
Not sure if this is company policy or just my store.
If you do encounter problems ask to speak to the customer service manager or get their email. They should be able to help.

Bargebill19 · 12/11/2020 20:19

We used a pay slip and photo ID - eithe passport or drivers licence. To prove you were the person named on the pay slip.

RosieLemonade · 12/11/2020 21:24

I’m a teacher with a photo ID and I haven’t dared try it yet! How awkward if they say no.

Bargebill19 · 13/11/2020 19:28

Be prepared to pay as normal - but try it - you never know. Ask at the customer services before you shop.

Bearnecessity · 13/11/2020 20:03

I work for a college only just started I have no photo ID and may not get any as my job is now permanently remote as they develop their blended learning provision. I have no payslip yet either.
