Which date to engrave?

Hi, we have our 25th wedding anniversary coming up next month. I am going to get something silver engraved.

My question is, do I put our actual wedding date and year or it, or do I put our wedding date and 2020 on it?

Example 24/12/1995 or 24/12/2020? Thank you.

Congratulations!

Instinctively I'd say the actual wedding date.

Wedding date

Wedding date.

Definitely don't put "1995-2020". No tempting fate!

Hi, thank you all. I’m glad that I have come here for opinions as I would have put 24/12/20!, as it’s in celebration of 25 years.

hername no, I was never going to put an end date 😂

The company have actually come back to me and said as it’s cufflinks, I could have both dates, one on each? Or does that sound like an end date?

Oh crikey, maybe I’m thinking too much into it!

I wouldn't have thought it until now but it does sound like an end date 😂

Both your initials on one cufflink and the actual date of your wedding on the other?

Kittykatmacbill · 12/11/2020 12:03

Wedding date I think?

BikeRunSki · 12/11/2020 12:05

Established 24/12/95?

BikeRunSki · 12/11/2020 12:07

Since 24/12/95 ? Up

Rememberallball · 12/11/2020 12:11

When I did a first Father’s Day gift for DH from our twins I put their birth date and the date for Father’s Day but these are, obviously different dates. For a wedding anniversary I’d put the wedding date and maybe say ‘celebrating 25 years’ or similar

Losingthewill8 · 12/11/2020 12:17

Initials on one, and actual wedding date on other sounds like an idea.

I know he’ll love it whatever I put on them, and when I explain my conundrum about the date looking like end date, he’ll think I’m daft 🤣

And thank you lobsteroll

It would be an awesome way to announce you want a divorce though!

Agree with others, your original wedding date. Lovely gift.
