Gallbladder pain linked to period

I am currently awake for the third night in a row with excruciating gall bladder pain.
Earlier in the week I became extremely bloated , gassy (sorry!) And started having gall bladder pain. I had gallstones when I was pregnant and seem to have them when I am on my period or due. Does anyone else have this? I have tried to Google but I don't like reading because it will make out I'm on my last legs. I am going to phone my GP tomorrow, although I'm not sure what they can do in these times.

Mine is linked to my cycle. Currently ovulating and awake with low level pain and then I usually get a more severe attack the day after my period ends.

I really do feel for you. It's the worst pain. I had gallstones and recurring attacks of that excruciating pain when I was pregnant, then it worsened severely in the weeks after birth. I ended up having my gallbladder removed as an emergency.

There are studies that show about twice as many women are affected by gallbladder pain/stones than men, because certain hormones play a huge part. Hence it is common that many women get gallbladder problems during pregnancy and/or after birth, as well as during the second half of their menstrual cycle.

Here is a link to a page that has good explanations and advice on what to avoid eating things that aggravate it. Diet can help avoid it getting bad. If it is really bad get seen asap, they should be able to tell how bad the stones are and if youmaybe need the stones broken down to avoid needing your gallbladder removed. Hopefully yours settles down.
