Can anyone talk to me about tongue drums /hang drums please

Thinking of getting dh one for Christmas.
It’s a kind of melodic/ healing type drum rather than musical drum I’m looking for
I see you can get them in different keys, c and d mentioned
I haven’t a clue about that, especially as I’ll be buying over the I internet so can’t actually listen to it.

I bought one for my birthday. I don't have a clue what pitch it is in but it sounds good! It came with its own little song book. You do have to hit it harder than you think you should! I got mine from Amazon for about £40.

Oh wow - I'm glad I looked at this thread. I've had a go on a rav drum which is very similar. I've wanted one ever since, but the only ones I could find were very expensive - in the hundreds.

There’s quite a few around the £40-£50 on Amazon

Whatever that is..I wish there was somewhere to go and listen to the darn thing

I'm not sure how good they are for atmospheric sounds as I haven't got far past twinkle twinkle little star yet! I'm a primary teacher so I probably use mine for a different reason!
