Not eligible for NHS dentist braces...

Hi - Any dentists able to offer any advice... If your child isn't eligible for braces on the NHS and your own dentist only offers invisalign, is it ok to shop around and should they have explained about other options like fixed braces if they are cheaper?
TIA

I'd always recommend seeing an orthodontist not just a dentist with an interest. You can self refer to an orthodontist for a consultation. They'll go through all the options; fixed, lingual, removeable, invisalign with costs, expected results and timeframe.
Also absolutely fine to shop around however most dentists are not keen on online orthodontics especially for a minor. Good orthodontics look at profile, lip position, position of teeth within the arch and bone not just whether teeth are straight.

Thank you Smile
