Heavy DH bed help please

Hi all,

Bed help/recommendations needed please.

My DH is a big guy, tall and probably about 19 stone, previously we’ve had divan beds thinking these would provide the most support for him but they seem to break on the edges where he sits down heavily. ( I know I keep telling him not to throw himself down )

I was wondering if a good quality slatted bed might be better so we could replace slats rather than the whole divan if needed.

Any recommendations gratefully received Wine

We got our mattress from this company www.reinforcedbeds.co.uk and it’s great. My husband weighs quite a bit more than yours. They do bed frames as well as mattresses.

My dp is exactly same weight and 6ft 4ins- we bought a solid oak bed from oak furniture land- has heavy solid oak slats too.

We had the same issue with divan beds. We now have a fairly standard metal bed frame with slats and no problems with it.

We’ve just bought this divan but without drawers as I think they compromise true structure. I’m a heavy gal and my partner is 6ft 2, 16/17 stone. Had it a few months and not one creak. I would recommend 100%. I avoided slatted because they always fall through when you’re heavier unless you pay a lot of money like the above posters for oak
