Carobel with anti reflux formula

My twin boys suffer with reflux and are very sick with it. We were prescribed carobel to add to ordinary formula - I had a moment of stupidity and added it to their anti reflux formula...I’m scared what damage this may have done. Will they just potentially be very constipated or are there any other possible risks? I’m so worried

It is just a thickening agent, it won't cause any harm don't worry. You can add it to any liquids to thicken. My daughter had it and bottles were made to almost a jelly consistency when she was suffering badly with reflux, never had a problem with constipation either.

As a one off they’ll be fine, did they manage to drink it? Anti reflux formula thickened and Carobel is a thickener too. May have made it harder to suck from the bottle but no longer term harm as a one off I’d say.

Thanks all. Yes they both managed to finish the bottles and have also both poo’d this morning! Yay!
I’m defrosting some breast milk too as it’s a natural laxative, hopefully that will sort them out properly. Thanks for your replies!

It doesn't cause constipation. We used it for DS's reflux for 18 months and his formula was like porridge. We had to use a very fast teat obviously so it would flow, but it never caused him any problems.
