Sending glass in the mail

I'm looking for a present for my brother abroad. I saw a nice glass tumbler set.

Would it be OK to send in a parcel acr the world to Australia or will it likely break even with bubble wrap.

I was looking at some Christmas mugs online. Would it be be if I send a mug instead?

Glass is sent round the world all the time - shipped from wherever it's made to where it's being bought. The glass we use in the UK is not all made here.

Pack it properly and it should be fine. Or find an Australian retailer that sells it and get them to send it.

Just looked up the last glasses I bought - made in Austria, shipped to Amazon in UK then shipped to me.
