Contingency Planning (Secondary School)

I just wondered if anyone else has had a contigency plan through from their childs Secondary School?

I have just received one that says in case of the Gov changes/large spread illness/unforseeable circs that they will shut the school on certain days for certain year groups (EG Year 8 will not be permitted into school on Wed and Thurs)

I understand that they need a plan BUT it seems like they are expecting this to happen? Or am I just reading too much into the school being prepared for the worst?

Any thoughts/comments appreciated

All schools will have plans like this.

Considering all the government u-turns so far, it seems incredibly wise, don’t you think?

I do think it is a good idea to have a plan, it just seems like they have put alot of effort/time/poss money for the plan and it is still very much an unknown.

I will add, I am pleased that they do have a back up plan but I am very slightly concerned about the effects it will have on his education and also the childcare element of having to find someone to look after him for (possibly) 2 days a week for the forseeable?

Dds secondary school have already implemented this. Yr 9s are no longer in school on a Thursday and will be sent the lessons for the day online and a pe/ fitness lesson to do.

Yr9s were also asked to have an extra week off before half term as the school were 11 staff down. Work was given for everyday.

Fortunately she's 13 so we have no childcare issues but online learning is no substitute for actually being taught.
