Ebay problem and postage times to Europe

I recently posted a small Ebay parcel to Finland, by normal air mail. I've just had a look at the order details, and it's giving an estimated delivery date in the middle of JANUARY, i.e. 2 months! Is this a mistake, or are parcels really taking that long? I don't think my buyer is going to be very happy about that. I know there's postage delays in general, but 2 months? Do I need to stop sending parcels abroad at the moment? Most of my buyers have been in the UK this year so I didn't know about this problem.

It's not really your fault if it takes 2 months, especially if you have proof of postage. Sometime the dates are approx with air mail. I've had orders from across the world arrive in a week or so rather then the month stated.

I hope it doesn't take much longer than a week. I hope the 2 month thing is just to cover things just in case.

Most of my buyers are in the UK anyway and I wonder if I should stop posting abroad if there's that many delays going on.

eBay estimate the delivery date based on your dispatch time and the method of delivery you selected. They very rarely take into consideration any delays or they might add a couple of days on. It sounds to me like you entered international economy delivery when setting up the listing which takes forever! Hopefully you sent it via international standard when posting.

Yes, I sent it by International Standard, as I would do with all international parcels.

Maybe add a note to your listing that orders posted outside the UK may take longer then expected, especially with the current pandemic and Christmas panic buy.
