Has anyone had a Morrison’s shop delivered via Amazon?

Using this service for the first time as its free with Amazon Prime.

I’ve filled my basket and checked out but now I’m in a virtual queue for a slot. The expected delivery date has already shifted forward to between today and the 12th nov. I’m concerned I’ll be waiting days and days to get a slot! Seems a strange way to operate as I’m not sure when I’ll get my order and I’ll be needing stuff in the next day or so.

Any experience of this?

My sister did one for the first time a couple of weeks ago. She got same day delivery but it was before lockdown so maybe not as many people trying to use it.

I booked a couple of days ago, a small shop of £40 though. No issues yet. It arrives today so will let you know.

We had a right nightmare with it. So gave up. It was really a bad service.

I've used it a few times before lockdown and it was reliable and the drivers were friendly. The shopping is well packed and the delivery slots were pretty easily accessible. It also helps that they provide things that not other supermarkets provide but on the flip side they don't do veg individually so you'd have to buy packs if you wanted one of anything.

Widebum · 10/11/2020 08:22

Okay so at 8am I was sent a text offering me a number of 2 hour slots starting from 10am today! So I’ve checked out my basket (around £80) and await!
I was a bit worried that maybe slots wouldn’t materialise and I’d be left in limbo not knowing whether I’d be getting a delivery but it seems all good so far 🤞
I’ll update later and let you know what turns up 🤗

We used it last week, same day delivery and everything arrived correct. We're in Edinburgh.

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 10/11/2020 08:28

It comes in lovely brown heavy paper bags!

Breastfeedingworries · 10/11/2020 08:30

I’m pleased this is offered and excited to give it a go!

ShaunaTheSheep · 10/11/2020 08:33

DC and uni flatmates use it regularly without issue, it was especially useful when they were self isolating. The delivery is usually made by a taxi/uber type service.

LagneyandCasey · 10/11/2020 08:33

Try filtering it to items available from Amazon, which includes many Morrisons products, but comes from an Amazon warehouse rather than a Morrisons store. The items direct from Amazon are firmly in stock - rather than have someone pick from the Morrisons store where they might go out of stock.

They open up slots randomly according to how many drivers they have (usually people using their own cars) so it is a bit hit and miss but I've always had some day delivery. It's just a case of frequent checking.

LagneyandCasey · 10/11/2020 08:34

Ah yes the paper bags are lovely!

DolphinsAreEvil · 10/11/2020 08:37

I have used it numerous times, it’s great. Used it during firebreak lockdown in Wales as well and the delivery slots were still next day. We don’t have a Morrison’s near us at all so it has been nice.

GooseberryTart · 10/11/2020 08:37

I didn’t know about this will have to look. Haven’t had any problems obtaining Click & Collect or delivery slots from our local
Morrison's.

SingingSands · 10/11/2020 08:39

Yes, we used it when we were in quarantine for 2 weeks. It was really good, we used a few times. Some of the groceries were Morrisons items, some were from Booths. Everything well packed and we've reused the paper sacks, which are brilliant and remind me of my childhood shopping trips to Safeway!

doadeer · 10/11/2020 08:41

I've done it loads most weeks. I only had to do thah virtual queue the first time. I usually always have next day or same day. It's good for basics I always just spend exactly £40 for free delivery. I get heavy things that I find it hard to carry from supermarket.

Never had any problems at all, probably done about 20x

3ismylot · 10/11/2020 09:15

My DH and I both drive for Amazon and sometimes do the Morrisons runs, they sometimes only recruit drivers an hour before the run so I assume it is done on demand and the more deliveries booked the more drivers they offer work to. The actual system works well though and as long as you get a good driver who does what they are supposed to then it will run very smoothly.

GooseberryTart · 10/11/2020 11:40

I have had a look on Amazon and I can’t see very many groceries from Morrison’s.

Widebum · 10/11/2020 13:49

Well it was great! Everything turned up that I ordered, good dates on everything and the driver was lovely. Can’t fault it - will definitely use it again!

Judging by the posts here what I am about to say clearly applies to certain stores and not nationwide..

I know people who work at Morrisons, I won’t say which store because I don’t want to be identified.

If you knew what I know, you wouldn’t entertain it.
In fact, you’d probably think twice about buying anything at all.
At the store I know management gives no fucks whatsoever for anyone.
No regard for food safety or staff safety or actually delivering what people have paid for

Beamur · 10/11/2020 13:59

I've used it quite a few times. Range of items is more limited than in store but good enough. Have usually got same or next day delivery.
I am still quite cautious with packaging and touching things that I don't know who has handled so will unwrap/wash/quarantine items.
All of the delivery drivers have been punctual and polite.

SpookyNoise · 10/11/2020 14:00

I have. Just be aware that you could get notified of a slot at any time, and you need to respond within two hours or you lose it.
