Teen DD - bleeding between periods

My DD only recently started her periods. She had one period followed by a second one 29 days later, so as expected. However, in the middle of her cycle she had a bit of brown discharge and then yesterday some actual bleeding, even though her period is not due for another 12 days.

My googling indicates this is not that unusual - but just wanted to see if anyone else has come across this. I think it’s a bit premature to see a GP...

Not everyone has monthly cycles. Especially when just starting. It’s possible she’s on a 14 day cycle until she regulates to a 28 day one.

Yeh no it should even out unless she’s one of the very unlucky ones but might just take a few months.
