Impact of covid-19 on the European Union

Just musing about this.

Individual economies have suffered massively, how will that impact the big players in Europe such as France and Germany? Will their economies be propping up the economies of other countries like Greece and Portugal?

Germany and Luxembourg are the rich countries - France is not doing so well atm. There is much wrangling going on about the MFF at present, and if it is not sorted, then they are a bit stuffed, especially as I think they want to link COVAId to it.

The frugals don't want to contribute much more than they do already, and would like to see the MFF slashed, but the usual suspects who are not net contributors don't want that to happen.
