Mahabi slippers - worth the money?

Just that really. I’m tempted but 70 odd quid seems a lot of cash for slippers!! Are they any good? Are they washable?

I'm interested in these but am waiting to see if there are any black friday deals.

There's always discount codes available too. You don't need to pay full price.

I had a pair in 2015 which were great. I bought them initially for the slip-on soles because we lived in a huge apartment complex and often had to leave the house (but not the grounds) to get parcels, go to the laundry room, meet delivery drivers/Ocado etc. so they were great for that. Lasted a few years and washed fairly well, I loved the wool lining which was really comfortable and warm. Then the company went into administration and were bought out. I bought another pair in 2018 and they were inferior from the start. I actually complained about them fraying to my husband after 3 weeks. They lasted another few months but then went in the bin. I would like to give them another go but really noticed the drop in quality from my first pair to second. I know it’s not super helpful now with lockdowns etc. but I’ve heard you can often find them in TK Maxx for much cheaper.

Just to add we don’t have any pets and they hadn’t been washed or badly treated which would have caused the fraying. Just general wear around the house and taking them on and off!

I have had a pair for a few years still going strong I bought they second hand unused on eBay with the white sold which are not popular but I wanted to try them out

TerribleCustomerCervix · 09/11/2020 11:29

If you wear slippers a lot I wouldn’t worry about justifying the price tbh. Think about the price per wear!

I got a pair of suede Birkenstock Bostons to act as slippers- I wanted something that I would wear outside or to nip into the shop. They’re absolutely hideous but v comfy and with socks v cosy. They’ll last years and years so I was happy to pay the £££.

I have a pair from Christmas 2 years ago. The wool lined kind, not the summer material. They've lasted longer than any of my previous slippers, including some very expensive ones. The sole is absolutely solid and I find them very comfortable. They are quite heavy if that's an issue. I've also seen them in TK Maxx regularly, maybe that's an option?

LadyofMisrule · 09/11/2020 12:26

I have Haflingers. They are awesome and are worth every penny. I'm particularly glad to have them this year, as so much time is being spent at home.

I have justsheepskin slippers, they were £60, well worth the money and last me about 2 years.

Sometimesonly · 09/11/2020 13:08

No. I bought some for dh and the quality was poor. They wouldn't stay clipped to the soles which made them basically useless.

nibdedibble · 09/11/2020 13:13

They’re ok, but be aware the fluffy lining isn’t wool, it’s synthetic...mine started giving me athlete’s foot
