What new hobbies/friends have you made in lockdown?

I’m quite a solitary person due to my low self esteem. Lockdown and not going back to the office isn’t the best for me, so I’m looking at making some friends.

Any ideas? I started to go to the gym (CrossFit) and made people to talk to that way. But obviously England is in a lockdown.

Any ideas?

I struggle with social anxiety and find it easiest/most comfortable to meet people through shared activities, so there's a focus to talk about and be involved in. Do you think this kind of scenario might suit you?

It could be worth seeing if there are any Ladies Circle groups in your area (or Round Table if you're male). They are still active over lockdown, adhering to restrictions as necessary of course - meeting online or outdoors if allowed. They do things like fundraising, games and craft nights, community activities, etc. Worth looking into if it sounds up your street. ladiescircle.co.uk/

None. Lockdown has made me realise I don’t have many friends. I haven’t seen them for ages, they are busy with their own lives etc.

I am learning guitar again and was meeting people through that

I guess this isn’t the best time to start trying to meet new people Grin

Volunteering might be a good way to meet people and if it’s something essential like food banks might be something you can do before purely social activities have restarted.
