Boxes - how can't I find any?!

Right.

This is an act of desperation. I've sourced my bottles, I have my ingredients ready, a company has made my design into stickers but do you think I can find simple brown cardboard boxes to package them in?! I've looked for ages.

I'm trying in vain to start selling my natural room spray - all essential oil blends. Nothing revolutionary, but simple smells, and it's a hobby so I may as well make some cash from it.

Finding boxes to send them (in what looks like a professional manner) is impossible. I need your help. I don't want to resort to a padded envelopes - I don't think it looks nice enough.

I've tried all the companies that Google throws at me. Nothing.

My bottles are 200ml and measure 80mm x 80mm x 180mm (long). I'm ready to start selling on eBay (and Etsy I think) but without means to send safely through the post, I can't get off the ground.

How hard can this be??!
I'm totally going nowhere on this and I'm begging for your help. Please help me source these boxes or else I'm stuck with 100's of bottles with no means of selling. All my family and friends will have to have them for Christmas at this rate 😫

I'm sorry! I thought I'd put this in Art & Crafts!

Anyway, if you can help me, I'd be so grateful.

Have you tried searching under "bespoke packaging uk"?

LittleEsme · 07/11/2020 11:08

I haven't. I'll give that a go.
I imagine bespoke = more expensive but I don't think I have much choice.

I have contacted the bigger box companies with a custom order but no one has got back to me. I'm such a small concern that they probably won't make any money from me. Frustrating!

Thanks @FlibbertyGiblets

Will you be putting bubble wrap in, so could use slightly larger boxes?
If you put your size in and scroll down this gives slightly bigger boxes

Would it fit in a postal tube?

For boxes I would look at Ebay.
However, before you spend any more money on this there are many restrictions on sending chemicals/perfumes/liquids through the post office so you may not be able to post them anyway. I know that perfumes are restricted to 150ml and have other restrictions so you will need to check the regulations.

I get my boxes from eBay. I wrap my items with tissue paper and pad out the remaining space with brown crunched up paper (only use bubble wrap if no option)

Bigger boxes are handy as they allow you to post multiple items. I sell multiples of small items and so this is important for me. I have in the past bought smaller boxes which just fit the items but I find them too limiting and I have tonnes left

Packaging products online are good and have you tried Amazon

LittleEsme · 07/11/2020 11:33

Thanks - I'll check this all out. I'm just unable to find this exact size (I've already accounted for a bit of bubble wrap).

You don’t need an exact size, though? You just need a large/small enough generic size that keeps the bottles secure when extra packing is added. Very few things have custom packaging.

ooheerelemeds · 07/11/2020 11:47

These any good?

What about these, they'll be much cheaper than custom boxes so you can afford to buy some brown paper to pad the excess space and potentially fit 2 bottles in - maybe offer a special offer or incentive to buy 2 at once, it'll save you on postage as well.
