Mumsnet but positive/cheerful

I'm feeling like it's so doom and gloom on here at the moment but I enjoy the odd amusing thread, recipes, ideas to help children sleep.

I need a cheerful version as I'm starting to find the "climate change will be worse than covid" and the like very depressing and I'm stressing about the mink/covid thing now etc etc etc. Is there such a thing?

And yes I could ignore but I see thread titles and get intrigued

Oh me too OP. Unfortunately I don't have anything cheerful to add but am sick of all the doom and gloom! I've hidden the coronavirus topic but everyone is still posting in chat/aibu Hmm

The thread about stealing someone's baby really made me laugh yesterday, if you haven't seen that one yet!

@FirstPost99 I've been around a while and I dont feel like it's been this negative before. Need a mumsnet lighthearted for us where doom and gloom is banned!

@Northernbeachbum I know what you mean. I've been here a while too (the name was part of a name change for a thread I never started and I couldn't think of anything else!) And mumsnet was usually where I came to distract myself from the worries I had in the real world. Lately it just adds to them!

I was thinking exactly this today- Mumsnet seems so angry these days.

Northernbeachbum · 06/11/2020 19:03

@mizu angry is a really good way of wording it!

I've been feeling a bit flat this week, and to counterbalance have been playing on the 'wrong answers only' thread. I enjoyed today's 'poor soldiers' thread.

I've seen the odd thread where posters have attempted to be more positive, but it's all too clear there are posters who are in such a bad place that they get decried/derailed

But I have got blessings to count: the supermarket delivery and arrived on time with only one (sensible) substitution, DC who had mini exams after half term has done well, all,DC are being sensible about covid restrictions and are doggedly making the best of it, we're all currently OK, and today is the birthday of both Albert Sax and Joseph Sousa so we need a marching band celebration!

Nikhedonia · 06/11/2020 20:23

I felt similarly this week so started a thread asking posters what songs cheer them up. I got so many good songs from it and have played a few this week which has been nice.

There's been so much anger on here recently, it's actually hard to find any fun threads and even the ones that are still attract angry posters who want to turn around even the innocuous recipe threads to COVID WILL KILL US ALL Sad

Classics is a refuge. Most threads on classics are also now really, really long.
