Wax melts that aren't Yankee Candle

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 06/11/2020 15:38

I've always used Yankee Candle melts, usually bought from Amazon but my stock is running low and I'd to try some new ones, preferably from a small independent business. I've had a browse on Etsy but there's too much choice and I'm not sure what's good.
Does anyone have any recommendations? I prefer fresh or floral scents, not sweet or perfume dupes.

These are amazing http://candlewick-greens.appspot.com

Candlewick Greens are the best, but they are a very small operation and very popular, so you might find it hard to get what you want. Everything usually sells within a minute or two of the website being restocked.

I buy mine from Scented Melts. They are based in Newcastle but do online ordering as well. They have a good selection of seasonal, floral, perfume, and Jo Malone melts. They’re fab.
(I have no connection to them, but I do buy a box every couple of months)

if you search wax melts on facebook or insta you’ll probably find about a million. everyone and their dog seems to be making wax melts or bath bombs lately! i got a huge cardboard box filled to the brim with wax bars and tubs and shapes for £10 from the charity shop that someone had donated who had their own wax business and then gave up on it.

I buy mine from Mrs Bs Candles on Facebook. She's local to me but will post nationally.

I keep seeing these on Facebook. What's the point of them over a candle?

The wax melts are so cheap and are amazing!

QueenPaws · 06/11/2020 17:02

@helloxhristmas you can burn and burn them until the scent goes and the actual scent is massively stronger

I like Pretty Boo.

I like them as they are smaller and cheaper than candles so I can try out lots of different scents and change them frequently. Plus the scent is stronger than candles. Thanks for the suggestions everyone!

@jynnerso - we bought a load of stuff from your shop when we were in Clovelly last year and we love it - amazing scents (and the dog shampoo bar is the best we've ever used).

OP - I got some nice melts from www.callancandles.com/ recently that last ages. Their sample box is good to try out scents before buying a bog box of them.

Hi, I discovered this company many years ago, www.busybeecandles.co.uk/ - BusyBees candles, based in South Wales and made from soy wax. I haven't ordered anything from them for quite a while now, and they always used to give discount codes on Twitter (probably Instagram too, but this was way before I even used Instagram), so it's worth having a look at them. They should also still be on facebook (I've not been in there for a few years now but they used to be), so you may find discount codes on there too.
Personally, I love them. The best independent candles and melts I've ever tried. I had a period where I just couldn't stop myself from buying them - esp the baby powder, which is my absolute favourite. Even the little candles and tea lights burnt for hours and the candles on the whole burnt evenly. I have bought the mixed scent tea light gift boxes in the past and the recipients loved them, and the smell even before you opened the box was amazing. I'm now thinking that perhaps I might need to buy some more...despite having many, many lovely smelling unfinished and not yet started candles, but they really were my favourites.
(No, not affiliated with them in any way, just this post made me remember them and how obsessed I used to be with them! 😁)

This is a lady local to me in North Yorkshire. Her candles and wax melts are gorgeous.
I've bought them for myself and for gifts quite often.

@spiderlight - that's lovely to hear. I've only just started working for them and they're a lovely company to work for - a really nice gang.
