A wonderful actor and by all accounts a friendly person. Leaves a varied and excellent body of work. RIP and thoughts for his family and friends.

Oh that's a sad one. Loved Butterflies. Will have the theme tune in my head all afternoon now as a tribute.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 06/11/2020 14:40

I'm sorry he's gone, he was a great actor. Not a tragedy at 93 but he'll be missed by many I'm sure.

I haven't user this MN name for a few years but had to bring it back today. I loved his acting.

That's sad news. DH and I were only talking about Butterflies the other day. When I was moving all the cars around on the drive because the DSs always park behind mine Grin

WildRosie · 06/11/2020 15:56

Equally capable of serious and downright silly, yet his facial expressions hardly changed.

motorcyclenumptiness · 06/11/2020 16:12

O that's sad news - loved him as the sausageless doctor in Fawlty Towers and as Penelope Wilton's dad in North By Northamptonshire

As posted on the other thread too : Jimmy in Reginald Perrin was my favourite character of his. What an actor, what a face! RIP!
