How often does primary school read with DC?

Just trying to gauge whether DC’s school is normal or not. He is Y3 and has only read twice at school this term (both times with Teaching Assistant). It’s a private school so smaller classes, so I was expecting more regular reading.

My youngest DS is in year 3. I think he reads at school once a week. State school.

It tails off as they get older and more confident.

Have worked in around 10 state schools. Always once a week in them

Every day in year 3

Children do a lot of reading in school that isn't "sitting 1:1 with an adult and their reading book"

Hardly ever 1:1, it's just not possible at the moment. They do phonics, shared reading and guided reading but 1:1 is down to parents. I expect they pick up those who don't though.
