Can I share my joy?

I've suffered from hives/urticaria for the past 23 years, and been unable to exercise/walk/get my HR up/wear a coat(!) for the past few years they've been so bad
Today I got approved for a medication which has a great success rate but is expensive to the NHS, hard to get and not commonly used
I am so so happy GrinGrinGrin

@esselllx

Omggg 😱 surely there must be something that can prevent it like a medication
yes...that’s what the thread is about...
gnashingsalt · 18/02/2021 00:38

Brilliant to see such great results OP!

QueenPaw · 15/03/2021 21:57

Back to square one Sad
This was after maybe 15-20 mins of exercise. I'm so fucking frustrated especially when people say "eat less, move more" to lose weight. I feel unfit and crap but I can't physically do anything!
Emailed the consultant to see if he suggests an increase or if we go in with the big guns and try suppressing my immune system (which is already compromised)

Oh QueenPaw frustrating when a flare happens, how is it this morning? You had such amazing results within such a short time frame I would try not to worry. My consultant has explained that it can go after 18 months of treatment. I'm currently pregnant and have no hives or flares which is bliss but was on round 2 of a six month course before I fell pregnant. Can you take additional anti histamines? I seem to remember I was still on cetirizine (up to four times a day) to help if I had any flares. Fingers crossed it was a quick reaction that has now begun to subside.

QueenPaw · 16/03/2021 09:00

It's gone now, I'm still on 4 cetirizine a day as well

Sweetpea1532 · 19/03/2021 02:03

I'm glad it has gone.
Keep the faith, Queen! You are so amazing.....I bet that was just a little set back...I wonder if there are some isometric exercises you could do that don't get your body so overheated?
I hate to mention this as I hate the water, but have you tried swimming? In a cool swimming pool?
OK, I'll be quiet now...just wanted to let you know you are in my prayers for continued good results🙏

QueenPaw · 14/05/2021 13:42

Update that it's basically working for everything except any form of exercise
They now think it's autoimmune neutropenia, if it is then staying on the injections will help
I have to go and have blood sent off to Denmark for testing and then have 8-12 weeks off the injections before I can start another course to see if it's cured or just managed by the meds. Phew!

QueenPaw · 14/05/2021 13:42

Autoimmune urticaria even! I already have autoimmune neutropenia ConfusedGrin

Sweetpea1532 · 14/05/2021 21:31

Oh, @QueenPaws...I hope they can get to the bottom of the current health problem.
You have such a positive attitude about it all...I'm so glad you've chosen to live your life like this.
It would be so easy to fall into "poor me " and nobody would blame you one bit!
I hope I don't offend...
Have you always had autoimmune issues or they are something that has developed over your adult life?
Fingers crossed on the Denmark testFlowers
Hi to Ollie and NMC😺😺

QueenPaw · 14/05/2021 21:34

Well the hives started around age 12 along with another autoimmune disease, then I picked another one up age 32, and another age 36 so I'm collecting them! No history of autoimmune conditions in the family either

JMAngel1 · 14/05/2021 21:36

Be careful what you wish for.

QueenPaw · 14/05/2021 21:41

@JMAngel1 ??

MisContrued · 14/05/2021 21:43

I have had dishydrotic eczema for 10 years which I was just managing to control with a low histamine diet but it was hard in the summer with the heat. Last Nov I started a low dose immunosuppressant for a completely different condition and it's gone with no sign now and we are in May so am hopeful.

The immunosuppressant is low enough to not really suppress the immune system. I just have to be careful what I eat e.g. enough veg and not too much sugar. It's not a walk in the park but it's not as bad as I thought. I didn't have much choice as I need it for this other condition, so it's sort of like a perk that the eczema went.

QueenPaw · 16/05/2021 14:07

FINALLY Grin
19c and muggy, I've been out shopping and so warm I'm a bit sweaty and no bloody hives

Sweetpea1532 · 16/05/2021 22:36

caringcarer · 17/05/2021 02:11

What a difference with the before and after photos. It's great it's working so well.

PawsQueen · 20/06/2021 12:35

So they've taken me off my injections for 8 weeks as I have to have a break to see if I have been magically cured
No. Can I have them back now? Grin
This was driving to the supermarket

If anyone's interested in another way to heal urticaria I recommend checking out Joe Cross. Lots of testimonials on his website from people who found his way helpful.
