On 13th October I completed the online claim form for new style ESA on behalf of my sister. She was diagnosed with a terminal illness in the New Year, and her work have now stopped her SSP, so we were advised she would be entitled to make a claim.
When we did the claim we ticked the box that the application was being made under special rules (we have already claimed PIP for her, with a DS1500 form), and at the end the app,cation was confirmed and said not to chase until October 27.
We still haven’t heard anything, my sister (who has had to give up her home, job, pets and come to be cared for by us) is declining rapidly and I cannot find anyway of getting in touch with the DWP to see what the status of her claim is. I called the number on the gov.uk site and was told they could only help with new claims.
Does anyone know how I can chase this up?
