Cheering up a friend - advice needed...

I have a very dear friend who was forced by circumstance to move back to Scandinavia and is having a dreadful time with work and has no support at home. Don't want to post more details, but I wish I could just give her a big hug. As I can't...

I know she's missing some English foods like Bisto gravy granules and clotted cream. I would love to send her a care package with clotted cream in but I'm not sure of logistics - would it stay fresh? Would customs allow it? Would it bankrupt me to do it?! Would the Bisto be OK if the clotted cream isn't?

I'd like to do it before Christmas, so I guess I need to get a wriggle on... Help!

I should imagine you could send bisto, not sure if the clotted cream would be a good idea, imagine that breaking in transit! Everything would be ruined. I know having ordered a food box at the start of lockdown the ice packs supplied keep the food fresh, but that was for delivery within 48hrs. You don’t say which part of Scandinavia your friend resides, but to get a parcel delivered in 48hrs may be expensive, if it’s even possible. Perhaps enquire at Royal Mail.

Finland

Annoyingly Rodda's don't export to them, only Sweden...

I wonder if there's a company in Finland that does food for expats. I know in London for example there used to be an Australia shop, so it's might be best to find out if there's a British food importer in Finland who can post from there.

Try British corner shop.co.uk

Thanks IHope - that looks like it might be a go-er! Amazing! (Not cheap, but it'll be worth it if it makes her smile)

Fingers crossed! I use them to send stuff to a friend so can vouch for them! Delivery (or more dispatch) sometimes a tad slow but otherwise v happy with them
