Sorry, another TV one - what would be a good lockdown watch?

So last March I discovered This Is Us on Amazon Prime which I loved. I am now looking for something similar to keep me amused over the evenings when I would usually be at running club or bootcamp.

I am ideally wanting something that's had a few seasons (4-5 ish possibly) and really easy to watch.

My favourites in the past are:

Revenge
This Is Us
Pretty Little Liars
Gossip Girl
Emily in Paris
Jane The Virgin
Heartland
Chesopeke (sp?) Shores

So something that's not too thinky. I did try to watch Friends from the beginning, but the laughter (canned or audience) just annoyed me so preferably without that.

I have Netflix, Amazon Prime, Sky boxsets so a few platforms there.

Eutopia

Whatthebloodyell · 05/11/2020 21:29

Based on you liking Jane the virgin I recommend Crazy ex girlfriend. Lots of series so should last you all of Lockdown!

BuffaloCauliflower · 05/11/2020 21:29

Oh and Gilmore Girls is fab but it’s not 90s. Started in 2000 and ran for 7 years. That’s one to get into from the beginning.

Yes Utopia and Crazy Ex Girlfriend

Crazy Ex is massively underrated

Good suggestions...

I did know that season 5 of This is us was on, but waiting for the whole season as I prefer to binge watch.

Still lots more to check out. Thank you everyone

If you haven’t already seen it, the US Office and Parks & Recreation.

The US Office first episode is crap - a remake of the British pilot basically. The rest of S1 (only 6 episodes) is better, but from the start of S2 it’s fantastic.

30 Rock is one of my other favourite comedies, I think it’s on All4.

And even though it’s not an easy watch, I have to to recommend The Shield on every TV recommendation thread because it’s so brilliant. Pretty sure it’s still on All4.

BalloonSlayer · 06/11/2020 06:57

Just coming in to say Crazy Ex Girlfried. Give yourself a couple of episodes to get into it though. It's fantastic.

We also loved The Good Place and Parks and Recreation.

KodakNancyEurope · 06/11/2020 07:07

If you don’t mind subtitles do watch “Call my Agent” on Netflix. Three seasons, all quality.

Might make you want to start smoking though Grin

MrsWhites · 06/11/2020 07:15

I’ll second whoever said Brothers and Sisters (Rob Lowe 😍)
Scandal
Steel Magnolias
Greys Anatomy
Madam Secretary
9-1-1

Beamur · 06/11/2020 07:17

Good summary of the US Office above - it's actually much sweeter and quite wry. Hugely likeable characters. Very funny.

mrsjg · 06/11/2020 07:34

Schitts Creek. All 6 series are on Netflix. Stick with it, it will be worth it.

Liverbird77 · 06/11/2020 13:57

Greenleaf. It is addictive!
The first episode isn't the best, but if you stick with it you'll soon be hooked! There are five seasons.

EatPrayYoga · 07/11/2020 17:14

I loved Hart of Dixie too but not sure where you can watch it

justthecat · 07/11/2020 17:18

Stranger things, 60 days in

Jellycatspyjamas · 07/11/2020 18:08

How to Get Away with Murder is good, on Amazon I think.

Power is also good on Netflix and if BBC iplayer still has Pose available it’s superb.

Dowser · 07/11/2020 19:07

YY Hart of Dixie. Apart from the last episode which felt rushed I really really enjoyed that. I knew people would suggest things that I forgot about. Virgin River is very similar (even having the same guy playing a similar role - Can't remember who he is, but he was the doctor in Hart of Dixie that was Lemon and Magnolia's dad)

Oooh more suggestions. Thank you everyone
