Can anyone lend you a wildlife camera? I usually put one on kittens we find and give it 24 hs. If mother isn’t back then chances are she isn’t coming back and I take them in.

Why do all I ever find in the garden are injured foxs im not aloud to keep Sad

LagneyandCasey · 05/11/2020 20:37

So beautiful, op. I'm glad they're safe, especially tonight. Our cat is currently hiding under the bed because she's terrified of the fireworks.
I really hope mum cat is still around so the little family can be reunited.

CastleOfDoom · 05/11/2020 21:12

I was going to say about the fireworks. Why are they so bloody loud? Poor animals.

SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 05/11/2020 21:33

Can you put them.in a box in the shed on top of an insulated hot water bottle and a heap of blankets? Come on mum cat!

ContraIndicated · 05/11/2020 21:37

Aww, I hope their mum comes back! They’re gorgeous.

Stinkerbells · 05/11/2020 21:41

@Baaaahhhhh

We found newborn mice babies nesting in the lawnmower...... bit gross actually, but DH very kindly left them there for mummy mouse to look after. I didn't adopt them!
Aww how lovely, know mice aren’t everyone’s cup of tea but they’re just little lives, making their living in the world, you and your DH are good people for letting them stay.
callistography · 05/11/2020 21:47

Ok. Nice I've got that out of my system, I really hope the Mum cat comes back xxx

Place marking

I found a bin liner of 5 kittens in the middle of the road once... I nearly drove over them! I don't know what made me stop and look.

They were so sweet... I took them home and looked after them for a week while I found them homes.

Weirdly, it was the same time of year - I was due to go to a bonfire party that night.

How horrible would someone have to be to do that to kittens!

And how amazing that you stopped! Thank you for being a decent human being and caring for them.

trickyex · 05/11/2020 22:49

Bathrum I always get really anxious when I see bin bags in the road, I have a fear of it being full of kittens I will run over.

ConquestEmpireHungerPlague · 05/11/2020 22:54

That's appalling. What is wrong with people?

CastleOfDoom · 05/11/2020 22:55

I always stare at any bags I see to make sure they're not wriggling.

lockdownrainbow · 05/11/2020 23:02

Aww gorgeous

Bobbi73 · 05/11/2020 23:06

I wanted to get kittens tmy boys but someone told me that they only have litters between May and September. It wasn't true. I'd love a couple 😀

Miljea · 05/11/2020 23:18

You appear to be doing entirely the right thing by those kittens, OP.

It's bloody cold out there!

NullcovoidNovember · 05/11/2020 23:26

An old Korean lady 😂😂😂😂

These kittens are probably about 4 weeks old so likely born end of September or early October.

Most kittens stay with mum til at least 8 weeks unless orphaned (preferably closer to 12, IMO) so there are generally kittens available November, even though it’s true that the main kitten birthing season is over.

Missmonkeypenny · 05/11/2020 23:43

Final photo for today. They've taken a strong liking to DHs dressing gown so are snuggled up cosy in there.

They've had some milk. Wouldn't take it from a saucer but would from a bottle so I think they may be towards the younger suspected age range. I rang DM and she reminded me her friend is a vet so will be speaking to her tomorrow! Checked the shed before heading to bed and still no sign of mum cat and haven't heard anything in terms of calling for them either - poor thing is probably terrified of the fireworks too Sad But at least the kittens are safe, warm and fed. DH goes to bed much later than I do so will be doing the next feed around 1am.

They are adorable!

So adorable that there are too many posts to read but just in case no one has already said this... As they seem to be very young from your last post, if they aren't going to the loo regularly, they might need some help by wiping their bottoms with wet cotton wool after every meal (mum would lick them).

HotToCold · 05/11/2020 23:59

Ah, bless them

Missmonkeypenny · 06/11/2020 00:11

Orange yes, we have stimmulated them to help them go to the toilet and they've all been 🙂 I think they're definitely more towards the three week mark than the four week one.

My dh found 3 kittens possible 2 weeks old as had open eyes, very thin and scrawny and in a carrier bag dumped in a ditch. He said he doesn't know what made him look but he saw bag move and stopped to look. He brought them home as they had obviously been dumped. We got milk from the vet and had a little pipette to drop milk in their mouths. I had to feed them every 2 hours and through night. One didn't make it as too sick but two pulled through. We kept one and gave one to my sister. Ours lived until 18 and my sisters until 16. Ours was called Lucky and my sisters Mitford.

Can you check if dead cat has milk? It sounds lovely me they might now be orphans. They look about 5 weeks as still have bright blue eyes. They will need kitten worming medicine too. They look just about old enough for kitten milk from supermarket. You can use an eye dropper or pipette to feed them about 15 mg every 2 1/2 hours. They will need feeding several times in night too. After 5 days you could give them kitten pate mashed down with milk to a gruel. Dip your finger.in it then let them lock it off your finger. Once they get the taste for it they will try to lap it up. They will still need milk every 3 hours.
