Would this put you off

Our house is very modern, however one of my daughters walls in her room is pink (this is the only wall in our house that's painted and it's not a huge wall) it looks really nice with the room decor she has, she loves her 'princess room' and got upset when it was mentioned about painting the wall back white, anyway we are planning on selling our house soon and my husband thinks we should paint the wall back white before we put it on the market? So my question is.. would you let a colour of one wall in a house put you off? I've viewed a few houses that the wallpaper/paint colour wasn't too my taste but I would never let it put me off as it's something I could easily change. I appreciate pink isn't to everyone's taste.

No, this wouldn’t bother me in the slightest!

I bought a house in Feb with a bedroom painted Barbie pink.We painted it in an afternoon.it really won't matter.

No, it would be clear that it’s a children’s room. Viewers would have their own ideas about what they would want to do to the whole house anyway.

Wouldn't bother me in the slightest. I'd just be grateful it wasn't wall paper.

Wintersunn · 05/11/2020 08:35

Nope! It’d be pretty obvious probably why it’s pink. And easy enough to paint over.

Mycircusmymonkey · 05/11/2020 08:37

One walk in one room won’t make a difference to people. If someone was that bothered they’d probably only consider an brand new build and wouldn’t be viewing anyway!

Thank you, this is what I thought but now I have something to show my husband that he's being silly Grin

Oh my goodness, my daughter's room in our old house was a riot of hot pink and purple. It sold very quickly.

EnjoyingTheSilence · 05/11/2020 08:45

Wouldn’t bother me at all

Oliversmumsarmy · 05/11/2020 08:46

If it goes with the room then it should be fine and it is only on one wall.
Very easily changed to any colour someone wants.
Wallpaper on the other hand is just a pain if it isn’t to your taste.

KedsAndTubeSocks · 05/11/2020 08:47

I had a mural painted on a wall in my last house when I sold it!

ProudAuntie76 · 05/11/2020 08:49

This is just silly of your DH. A wall that needs painted is not going to stop a house sale going through. Does he realise that some people buy houses that need new kitchens, bathrooms etc and that most people repaint or paper walls themselves when they move in?! No one expects perfection. A wall is the tiniest concern.

The house we are buying has a bright, shiny blue paint in a bedroom, with superhero stickers. It's just a cosmetic issue.
