Phone Contact

Hi,
Asking for advice, a week ago I phoned Vodafone asking them to cancel my contract. After 25 minutes on waiting list and an extra 10 of them trying to sell me another deal (Despite saying no everytime and them telling me my new carrier is crap; it’s EE so best in the country) they said the contract would be cancelled. It was at the end of the minimum period (12 months).

Anyway, I have just noticed that my contact hasn’t been cancelled and that I have been changed for the next month.

Have I done anything wrong or is it Vodafone messing up!

You usually have to give 30 days notice on a phone contract so it s probably that.

Vodafone are robbing bastards - they did this to my cleaner.

Here's what you do.

  1. check your contract to see how much notice you needed to give that you weren't renewing the contract

  2. call again. Tell them a) you're recording the call (also, record the call) , ask for the name of the person you're speaking to and tell them you are giving notice and want to know when the last payment had/will come out. Then, on your computer or in a notebook, write down the time and date you phoned.

  3. that should be the end of it. If it's not you write a strongly worded hard copy letter with all of the above info and demand your money is returned to you.
