What alcoholic drinks do you have in the winter?

Over Christmas I always get a bottle of port and a bottle of Baileys just for me.

I don’t even drink the rest of the year.

Must be the prospect of lockdown that’s making me look forward to it already.

Sloe gin, ginger wine.

floofycroissant · 04/11/2020 23:07

Every year I get excited for an advocaat snowball, then remember they're mediocre at best.

I had an amazing mulled cider last weekend.

Mulled wine, and homemade egg nog on xmas even.

Dark rum and ginger beer...it's called a dark and stormy and is spicy and so lush.

AdaColeman · 04/11/2020 23:11

Winter Pimms
Winter berry cocktail
Hot whiskey

MrsBeltane · 04/11/2020 23:21

Whisky and dry ginger, or coffee with Baileys instead of milk.

Aparttogether · 04/11/2020 23:25

Now I do like Pimms.

I always get a bottle of baileys but tend to just use it in hot chocolate. I tend to have at least 1 of those a night leading up to Christmas.

Mistymonday · 04/11/2020 23:50

Mulled wine
Vegan Baileys
Single malt whisky
Harvey’s Bristol Cream Sherry

Anchoredowninanchorage · 04/11/2020 23:55

The Kings Ginger if solvent, home made red if not

AdaColeman · 05/11/2020 00:38

Advocaat, if I can get the thick spoonable type from Belgium.

Brandy Alexander for a treat, I float Maltesers on top, for a bit of fun!

GlamourSpider · 05/11/2020 00:54

Port, Baileys (for hot chocolates) and advocaat (snowballs!).

tobee · 05/11/2020 00:57

Half a thimble of sweet sherry, Mumsnet stylie.

But only every other year of course...

Yoyoyossarian · 05/11/2020 01:04

Amarula Cream

Blueberrycreampie · 05/11/2020 01:06

Cherry Brandy or Kahlua, with the odd Amaretto, lovely.🥃🍸

Ilovesausages · 05/11/2020 01:11

Ooh definitely Baileys and mulled wine. Mulled cider also sounds so good!!!

Redact · 05/11/2020 05:19

Advocaat for a snowball, mixed with san Pelegríno lemonade and a slice of lime, Christmas in a glass. Whisky toddy if I'm feeling under the weather, usually made with one of DH single malts. Frangelico, slice of lime and ice. And sometimes a dark and stormy, rum and ginger.

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 06/11/2020 14:36

Just ordered a plum and vanilla gin that, red wine and Old Fashioneds will see me through winter.

BashfulClam · 06/11/2020 14:42

Baileys and Disarrono

lazylinguist · 06/11/2020 14:47

I'm off the booze these days, but I used to like mulled wine and mulled cider. Winter Pimm's is nice too. I was never a fan of most sweet alcoholic drinks, definitely not Bailey's etc.

dragoncheeselady · 06/11/2020 14:52

Bottle of port so I can have hot port and lemon on very cold days
Snowballs for Christmas and some type of gin liqueur.
We have a toffee apple one from home bargains at the moment which is lovely

Waxonwaxoff0 · 06/11/2020 14:58

Baileys, Disaronno, Advocaat for snowballs, mulled wine, vanilla vodka in hot apple juice with some cinnamon.

Magicbabywaves · 06/11/2020 15:04

Baileys, although the Lidl one is much cheaper and just as nice.
Mulled wine.
Amaretto sours

HoxtonBonnet · 06/11/2020 15:08
