Favourite festive party food

I absolutely love the season when the supermarkets get those packets of tiny little party food in. They say they're for the freezer but we all know they are for heating up for an evening in front of the telly with a bottle of wine.

Everyone in my local M&S fights over the bacon and cheese rolls! Their selection is usually nice but they need to bring out something new this year. I found these in my local Tesco yesterday and we devoured them this evening. They were delicious Biscuit

What are your favourites? Anything you couldn't have Christmas without?

The M&S BBQ pork belly squares - so good but I get gallbladder issues if I eat too many so only buy one pack a year!

Mini. Stollen. Bites.

Deadly.

I spotted those for our next delivery!

Tesco do these chicken pyramid type samosa things with a satay peanut dip and I stockpile every Christmas. I haven’t seen them this year...not getting anxious at all!

Mini steak pies.

Agree with stollen as well.

Crumble topped mince pies from Tesco were smuggled into our last delivery, highly recommended!

I don't think I've ever tried stollen! I always look at it and think that looks delicious but I never actually buy it Confused

I love mini spring rolls with sweet chilli dips. Have no idea why this shouts "Chistmas" to me!

This year probably won't have freezer space due to a glut of home grown apples. Unless we start eating apple crumble like it's going out of fashion...

Alvertan · 04/11/2020 23:15

I’m relatively new to stollen, I tried some in marks last year and it’s been quite the wait for their appearance this year. Current Christmas stollen statistics for 2020 are as follows -

Boxes purchased 6 [2 mini bites and 4 normal]
Boxes consumed 2.8

Vol au vents, they've been few and far between in recent years, edged out by more trendy Chinese dim sum and Indian snacks, but they seem to have made a bit of a comeback this year.
I like the various crispy prawns too, filo pastry or tempura or breadcrumbs, all delicious!

I love blini with cream cheese and smoked salmon. Obviously pigs in blankets and mini sausages in honey and mustard, warm flakey pastry sausage rolls. Tempura prawns and crispy dusk spring rolls.
