How would you spend 6 free hours tomorrow?

HarrietPotterska · 04/11/2020 17:24

The project I have been working on has completed earlier than I expected! As such, I now have 6 lovely hours (between drop off and pick up) all to myself.

Sadly, it's also the first day of lockdown!

My house is clean. I can't go to the gym or go to any galleries or museums. I don't want to look at any screens, really!

How can I spend this bonus me-time??

I would go for a walk somewhere peaceful (beach for me), take a bath (maybe do a facemask), have an indulgent lunch and read a magazine while eating, do some painting.

OverTheRainbow88 · 04/11/2020 17:47

Bath, cycle, garden centre, meet a friend for a walk and take away coffee!

Enjoy

Gobbledygook20 · 04/11/2020 17:49

If you know any really good parks locally a few still are running takeaway cafe service once u have enjoyed a walk in nature with the autumn leaves.

grassisjeweled · 04/11/2020 18:05

I'm currently getting an overdue pedicure Grin

That could be an hour of your time?

HarrietPotterska · 04/11/2020 18:13

@grassisjeweled beauticians will be closed, no?!

Okay, sounds like some walking is in order. Shame DH will have the car else I could go
Somewhere more adventurous than our local area!

Id take a little napperoo, have a really nice lunch and have a bath with a book

mynameiscalypso · 04/11/2020 18:27

I have the same on Friday (albeit have an annoying zoom call scheduled for an hour in the middle). I am going to sleep and read a book and that's it.

Ihaveyourback · 04/11/2020 18:28

Personally I am tired, and I have a day off tomorrow.

I plan to have a bath, exercise in peace, walk the dogs and then watch a nice film in the afternoon one that dh would not enjoy! I am going to eat delicious food and enjoy some much longed for peace.

Mumshappy · 04/11/2020 18:29

I would sleep.

HarrietPotterska · 04/11/2020 18:43

Maybe tomorrow is the day I start couch to 5k after stopping running a couple of years ago (when I would run 10k several times a week) and put on a massive (and I do mean massive, amount of weight

I would run, come home and have a bath and something to eat, laze about in bed for a bit with a good book... then either doze off, or realise there’s still HOURS of freedom left and get up and go for a walk or a cycle or something. Lie on the floor staring at the ceiling for a bit.

How lovely to have a bit of unexpected downtime - enjoy!

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 04/11/2020 18:50

I would read, but then I always do.
Don't waste this time on sth worthy.

BullshitVivienne · 04/11/2020 18:54

Have a bath, sleep, watch some nice trashy TV. Lovely.

vanillandhoney · 04/11/2020 18:57

I would probably go back to bed for a while.
Have a nice, hot bath with a book and do things like shave everywhere, do a facemask and paint my nails.
Have a dirty lunch of something I'd never normally buy.

waitforitwaitforit · 04/11/2020 19:25

Nap, have a danish and a coffee, watch something on telly. Probably Hamilton.

lazylinguist · 04/11/2020 19:29

Go for a run, which will mean you've earned some lounging around afterwards! I'm rubbish at making enjoyable use of my leisure time. I faff about and allow tasks, housework etc to expand to fit the time available. I'm constantly kicking myself about it. Hmm

trilbydoll · 04/11/2020 19:30

My car is sitting in the drive with a totally flat front tyre so feel free to come and sort that out for me Grin

I would start wrapping Xmas presents!

timothytoeseatenbyaghoul · 04/11/2020 19:31

I would make a fry up- bath- sleep Smile

Spreadingchestnut · 04/11/2020 19:33

Sweep leaves? Plant bulbs? Pot herbs for windowsill?

Something creative? Easy craft to get ahead with presents or decorations?

Autumn watercolour painting or photography?

Respectabitch · 04/11/2020 19:37

I'd go for a long run, watch Netflix in bed and write.

Doyouknowwhat · 04/11/2020 19:40

Sleep.!!!
The thought of catching up on so much lost sleep is soooooo appealing.

I'm trying to decide if 2 hours i have on friday afternoon is long enough for a sleep, or if I will just feel groggy afterwards.

shinynewapple2020 · 04/11/2020 19:41

Walk
Sleep
Read a magazine
Eat cake

katy1213 · 04/11/2020 19:55

Binge-watch something trashy like Emily in Paris. And then kick yourself.
Make a cake and eat quite a lot of it. And then kick yourself.
Go for a walk via a really good deli and have a bench picnic for one.

TheChosenTwo · 04/11/2020 19:56

Oh my god, the thought of anyone having free time to themselves is making me feel rageful with envy Grin
However, I’m sure you’re a thoroughly lovely person who truly deserves some time out, so...
I would go for a run super early before the school run (I go at 5:30, means it’s out of the way before any real work!). Then once you’ve got rid of children, I’d go for a nice walk, come back, light the fire and retreat in front of it with a bag of crisps and a good book.
Enjoy!

Flupibass · 04/11/2020 19:59

I’d probably cycle, come home have coffee watching a bit of Netflix, then do something like potter around the garden, then lunch with more Netflix. Might knit or something as I watch. A whole day.....? Wow so rare. Bit of jigsaw, or bake a cake , online shopping, more Netflix. We’re all so tired aren’t we? Read in the bath with lovely bubbles.
I want a whole day where I’m not answerable to anyone or have to talk to anyone!
