Child’s flu nasal spray - how many doses?

My two year old had her first ever dose this winter and our doctors are saying she needs a second dose.

I have three friends with children the same age and they are all only having one dose. So I checked the NHS website and to me it says you only have a second dose if there is an underlying health condition. My two year old is completely healthy, no issues.

I called the doctors to explain all of this and they are adamant that she should have a second dose.

I just wondered if anyone else’s two year old is having more than one dose of the flu nasal spray.

Nope, just one here.

I thought if there was an underlying health condition they were given an injection. I've not looked in to it though as thankfully not relevant to us.

What do they say to justify a second dose?

Did you ask what the reason was?

Just one.

It's normally just one. I would ask them to clarify the reason and point them to the NHS guidance. It's possible there is a mistake in her record.

I’ve attached a screenshot of the NHS website. They are reading that paragraph to say she should have it twice because she is 2 and never had it before.

They’ve told me to come in with her for the appointment anyway and they’ll show me the leaflet that comes with the spray.

I was wondering if maybe there are different brands of the spray that have different doses
