Traditional removers vs man and van removers from furnished house?

We are moving out of a furnished rented property, so we don't have a full house of furniture. We do have some extra bits - cot, some small storage units, tumble drier, microwave. And of course our belongings. But no beds, sofa, wardrobes, table, bookshelves. We prefer to pack our boxes ourselves, so it will be a case of wanting people to load the van, drive and unload it.

We are moving house to a different area and wondering whether to use a traditional removal firm or a local recommended 'man and van' type company that does removals? The latter is around half the price and has been recommended by several people in the local FB group.

I am leaning towards the 'man and van' (they will provide 2 men so I suppose I should call it 'men and van' Grin). DH prefers the traditional moving company, although he also says they are too expensive....

The last time we moved we hired a man and (huge) van, would have been 3 men as DH disabled and unable to help. They cancelled at 3pm the day before the move Angry we were still shifting boxes at 8pm on move day and it left DH Ill for months.

Andy you tosser, it’s been 3 years and I’m still so angry, I will never forgive you.

Anyhow op, lots of people move with man & van and you don’t have lots of stuff so I would do that option and save yourself a fortune.
