10 weeks pregnant scared

So today am 10 weeks pregnant. This is an ivf pregnancy so had been a very long journey to get here.

Had scan at 6 weeks due to bleed which showed a 6 week old bean with heartbeat looking good.

Last few days have had brown spotting which midwife said Is normal. I know brown is old blood. It would then go back to normal.

I am so scared that it’s going wrong though and woke up about half an hour ago with brown discharge that looked rusty red. It was more than I’ve had over last few days.

I know I will probably ring the midwife in the morning but how do I get through tonight?

I know this must be terrifying, but you need to get some rest. That's the best thing you can do for your little one right now.
Alternatively, if your mother's instinct is telling you there's something wrong, could you ring triage and go in now for monitoring? In fact, having typed this, I think that's the best thing to do.
Either way, this is a virtual handhold and a hug. I so hope everything is ok.

A virtual handhold and hug from me too .

I would phone triage straight away if it feels wrong. Hope everything goes well Thanks

Hope everything is ok and you can get a scan and some reassurance later today.
Try to get some rest now even if you can’t sleep.

Thanks all managed to get some sleep.

Where I’m from there is no general hospital and nearest triage would be an hour or so from here and in a different county.

I’m going to ring midwife this morning but this in itself is hard as you ring an area number then are put through to local midwife or not as the case was yesterday.

Hand hold OP, hope it’s nothing. I had a few bleeds around 6-10 weeks and it was nothing, once they have a heartbeat the risk goes down, fingers crossed for you OP

FallingStar · 04/11/2020 10:36

@thefishthatcouldwish I hope you're ok xx

AtLeastThreeDrinks · 04/11/2020 11:49

Hope you're ok OP. I had brown discharge and bright red blood between 8 and 10 weeks and everything's fine (I scared myself silly Googling though!). I'm sure you will be too x

Thanks for the kind words.

My midwife has booked me a scan for tomorrow. She said most likely it’s nothing to worry about at all.

Hi, I will hold your hand tightly. I’m 8 weeks with my second ivf baby. I bled and spotted many times with my first, the extra medications especially if you are taking progesterone pessaries can make the cervix very very sensitive and prone to bleeding. They never found a cause with it with DS.

Glad you have a scan. How are your symptoms if you have any?

I have been suffering from very bad morning sickness, worse than my first, I was very ill during the night and now I’m bleeding again. Got an appt for Friday to get checked out.
