Facebook says I have a message but I don't??

I've evens into messenger and looked at 'message requests' then spam but nothing yet the notification still says I have a message. It's been 3 days now.

Any clues??

No idea but I've got the same with Instagram. Says there's a message but there is nothing there.

Sometimes I have this if my sent message has not been read.

It can be someone you've muted. Best to look on a desktop and not the app.

Does Facebook allow people to unsend or delete messages after they've been sent?

Also, check if you have a message request on your profile. This happens if someone tries to message you that isn’t on your messenger contact list. Also, as above, go on Facebook via a desktop or mobile site, rather than the app.

Following as the same is happening to me! I could even see the first line of the message when my screen was locked, but nada when I actually open the app!

Same happening here, wonder if it's a facebook glitch
