Maybe I'm biased because I have kids who dance and sing including a daughter who went to ballet school and I know how much they are missing performing.

I’m confused by the Age UK one... at the end, is the implication that the dog is dead? How did it’s collar come off though? And now they’re... ghosts?

@Al1langdownthecleghole

Not Christmassy, but I’m loving the current Dunelm advert where the nurse comes home and the first thing she does is take her bra off. I’ve not worn a uniform for a good few years, but once upon a time, that was me.
Lucky for her Dunelm don’t sell bras, it’s have fallen apart before she got home.....
twobrews · 03/11/2020 22:12

Amazon- rubbish and not very festive.

Age Concern- wtf. The man only looked about 50 and why was he eating dog chocolate?

I thought the Amazon advert was lovely.
I was promptly told by a couple of people it was too early though 🙄🙄🙄

Bore off. If you don't like it, don't comment. Grrr. I love Christmas and people know this. I'm also spending my birthday and my DH's birthday in lock down so forgive me for getting in the spirit!!

Looking forward to more Christmas adverts in the coming weeks 🎄

Yes. Brutal. And yes @twobrews he was young!
VanGoghsDog · 03/11/2020 23:45

if you want us all to buy your wares and continue making the worlds richest man even richer, at least say the word Christmas in your Christmas ad.

Why? It's up to them isn't it. And maybe they don't want to exclude non Christians from their marketing?

I think the Age Concern one is weird. Guy loses dog, goes to look for it, dies of a heart attack, reunited in death. It's not quite Greyfriars Bobby, is it!?

PickAChew · 03/11/2020 23:50

The amazon one was TV premiered during bake off. It's sweet but I can imagine her, irl, yelling at her brother to stop shining that fucking torch in her eyes!

PickAChew · 03/11/2020 23:51

The lego Christmas ad was better, mind.

Nomnomarrgh · 03/11/2020 23:53

Its the only christmas ad I’ve seen and it brought a tear to my eye

Sparklingbrook · 04/11/2020 01:00

Yes on the Age Concern one the dog’s dead, the bloke’s dead , everything’s dead. Merry Christmas!! The dog was eating chocolate from the Doggy advent calendar .

Noitjustwontdo · 04/11/2020 09:29

Thought it was quite fitting this year tbh Grin.

Hopeitsallok · 04/11/2020 10:25

I’ve just seen this, thought it was lovely 😊

EnjoyingTheSilence · 04/11/2020 10:43

Love the Amazon ad (even though it’s for Amazon) thought the dog ad was terrible, really, really awful. I know it’s for charity but bloody hell, it’s bad

unicornparty · 04/11/2020 10:47

The amazon ad doesn't do it for me. I found it boring and not festive at all. Sorry.
I'm looking forward to what the JL ad will be this year Grin

SugarMiceInTheRain · 04/11/2020 10:51

Yep, I have to admit that made me sob. I miss performing so much.

movingonup20 · 04/11/2020 11:03

I love the amazon advert, it was real tear jerker.

DilysPrice · 04/11/2020 11:06

The bloke who writes the blurb for the Argos app updates nailed it as usual in August.

Sorry John Lewis Amazon has won the Christmas advert this year
movingonup20 · 04/11/2020 11:07

The amazon one is more of a winter ad and works across markets, added bonus, can be used in February for lockdown 3
