Maybe I'm biased because I have kids who dance and sing including a daughter who went to ballet school and I know how much they are missing performing.

Not very Christmassy but a nice story. I hope we don't have to watch the full length version too many times, but I always feel like that about long adverts after first watch!

TheQueef · 03/11/2020 13:45

Fucking hell the Age concern needs a tw !
Say sobbing here.

Wankerchief · 03/11/2020 13:47

I came here to pour scorn on mushy ads... Jesus,Joseph and Mary that bloody age concern one has me fucking bawling.

I was not emotionally ready, I just wasn't

Ilikewinter · 03/11/2020 13:53

😥 sat here tears streaming, I was expecting the normal happy ending but it wasnt to be 😥😥😥

@MustardMitt

As a former ballet dancer, I’m gritting my teeth at the damage those ballet shoes must get on a roof! Grin

Nice advert. Now I know what those crazy torches are for!

As a mother who has spent a fortune on ballet shoes over the years, that was exactly my reaction tooGrin

Beautiful ad though.

Gosh yes, I can't tell the brand (dd would be able to) but at between £40-60 a pair they will be wrecked!

I do wish they had chosen a British trained dancer (we have lots who are in desperate need of work).

I was kind of hoping for a better outcome TBH. Sad
TheQueef · 03/11/2020 13:58

I've still got fat toddler tears 😢
I wasn ready.

VanGoghsDog · 03/11/2020 13:58

Is that Fatima's last show before she goes off to learn cyber?

Butternutsqoosh · 03/11/2020 14:09

Cried at the Amazon one, can't bring myself to watch the Age Concern one though .... not yet

MrsKingfisher · 03/11/2020 14:19

That age concern one is shite, why do they make older folk appear so doddery some more seasoned people are very spritely. Apparently M&S aren't doing one this year opting for 'influencers' to show their goods instead.

Can't we just have a simple bloody Christmas advert without the saccharin #bekind over done heartfelt message crap.

Sparklingbrook · 03/11/2020 14:21

The man in the Age Concern advert didn't look that old to me.

Dontstepinthecowpat · 03/11/2020 14:22

I must be dead inside, I was bored through both Confused

Or goes to work in the Amazon warehouse.

Nah, it's still last year's from Hafod Hardware in Rhayader that does it for me. I had a little sniff watching again this week, hoping the small, independent stores will pull through.

Woui · 03/11/2020 14:37

@Dontstepinthecowpat

Same.

Yup that was my first thought too! Pointe shoes are bloody expensive!

That girl is very good though

ahahaha this is why mumsnet needs an upvote button!
Sparklingbrook · 03/11/2020 14:41

I haven't shed a tear at a JL ad yet. Every year where everyone's sobbing I am just 'oh'. Grin

I don't know why advertising companies think we want to be bawling at Christmas. I loved the little drummer Nandi in last year's Argos ad-that's what we want to see not sob stories and gloom.

Ilikewinter · 03/11/2020 15:07

Kevin the carrot gets my vote!

Deathgrip · 03/11/2020 17:16

Dear lord, that Age Concern advert is like something made for The Apprentice.

I don’t think it is an Age Concern ad though is it, just a video to accompany a song raising money for Age Concern.

gettingolderbutcooler · 03/11/2020 17:54

Crying.

movingonup201 · 03/11/2020 19:37

I can't believe anyone is crying at the Age UK song/video, it's awful!

Brutal. I've never cried at an ad before! I blame covid.
movingonup201 · 03/11/2020 19:43

@TheQueef it made me giggle, it's so trite, I'm going to hell aren't I!
