If you woke up on Christmas with symptoms would you book a test for Christmas Day?

Yes, without hesitation as there is an ECV person in the household.

If it was that person with symptoms, then we'd probably be on the way to hospital (we have individual instructions on what to do, which do not involve the national coronavirus system)

Yes. We've done so many long stretches of Self Isolation over the last 3 months (one or more of us) that Is want the results back asap so I could go for a walk.

SnuggyBuggy · 03/11/2020 07:08

Personally no, we'd just do the 14 days

BogRollBOGOF · 03/11/2020 07:09

Yes. The infrastructure is there for a reason.

A decade ago I had a home visit from the MW on Christmas morning to check that I was still progressing after a tough birth and stay in HDU some days earlier.

Of course.

I had symptoms a fortnight ago and could get a test within 30 minutes! I tested at 6.30pm and had the results back at 8.40am the next day. I wouldn't test on actual Christmas Day though I'd go on boxing day if I couldn't get Christmas Eve

Toontown · 03/11/2020 07:18

Yes. Isolating for 14 days is fine as long as you haven't been in touch with other people. Then you have a duty to tell them if you're positive. Why would it make a difference at Christmas?

Normandy144 · 03/11/2020 07:38

Can you move this to the coronavirus section please?

Have you done any 14 day stretches yet?

I used to say this too. Then I had to actually do it and it's tougher than you think.

SnuggyBuggy · 03/11/2020 07:45

Not sure, it's not like there is anywhere for us to go where we are and the weather will probably be crap. We've got plenty of food and supplies stockpiled.
