Haven’t been able to find one since Saturday in two different Tesco stores.

Noticed there was hardly any veg left today as well.

Does people actually stockpile salad items? Do they not think it through Hmm.

FedUpAtHomeTroels · 02/11/2020 19:12

Are they all making sliced pickles in your area?
There was loads in our Asda today.

billy1966 · 02/11/2020 19:18

Someone is pickling......i could eat a jar in a sitting, no problem, ...love with cheese and brown bread.

CorianderLord · 02/11/2020 19:29

Not sure but I got five in my Gousto box which felt excessive for two of us

billy1966 · 02/11/2020 19:31

@CorianderLord

Pickle them. So simple. So incredible.

It’s meeeeeee!

I’m on a diet and cucumber is my go-to snack. I get through a whole one nearly every day.

Mwahahahaha!

OrigamiOwl · 02/11/2020 19:39

Not sure, but presumably the same people who are stockpiling pitta bread.

Toomanycats99 · 02/11/2020 19:43

@OrigamiOwl

I forgot - pitta bread were a nightmare tk get hold of last lockdown. No idea why.

Ernieshere · 02/11/2020 19:44

Cucumber & Mint

user2853684215 · 02/11/2020 19:45

It won't be individuals buying up all the salad, it will be lots of panicked people buying one extra or one sooner all at once. Human nature.

cate16 · 02/11/2020 19:51

Well I could only small ones on my online order, so ordered two - they sent two large ones!

QueenPaws · 02/11/2020 19:56

My dad went shopping today and said everything looked fine. Except for the coffee/tea aisle and there was no instant coffee/latte sachets etc in sight Confused

Elieza · 02/11/2020 20:02

Perhaps the migrant labour wasn’t available from Europe to pick them so there arent that many available and what was sold out quickly?

I run a food bank and weirdly today we received 65kg of the bastarding things (as opposed to the usual zero). So they're all with me, basically. Soz.

goldenharvest · 02/11/2020 20:18

plenty in asda today

MissCadoganTate · 02/11/2020 20:18

Sigh. It's me. I'm single and need to get through the next four weeks with some kind of fun. To be fair, I only buy the curved ones

Devilesko · 02/11/2020 20:21

I bought one, and don't usually, fancied a change.
From our local market.

MissCadoganTate

I'm sure there's a sale at LoveHoney.

EugeniaGrace · 02/11/2020 20:22

Guilty as charged. My husband keeps buying the things as a go to veg for dc. My MIL too. I held him back from putting it on the list by default yesterday after pointing out we already had three of them hanging around the veg drawer.

Cantchooseaname · 02/11/2020 20:27

Pimms?
Winter pimms?

safariboot · 02/11/2020 20:29

For fresh produce, just as likely to be transport problems. Most of this stuff is imported, and a lot of Europe is tightening restrictions again. If the workers in Spain have a Covid-19 outbreak you don't get your cucumber here in Britain.
