How many stamps to send a card to Germany?

Just that really?

Has anyone sent a card/ letter to Germany?

It's just a normal sized card, nothing else in it so no extra weight.

Thanks!

Yeah I've seen this page, thank you though, they are more options for parcels I think Confused

Or to send via online, I just want to know how many stamps, I've got a big sheet of 1st class stamps that I'd like to use.

It says £1.45 for letters if you actually click on the option for International Standard

Yeah I know. I've got a sheet of stamps already and was just wondering how many to put on.

Thank you though.

£1.45 and an air mail sticker

GreyishDays · 02/11/2020 17:03

@charmsofasimplelife

Yeah I know. I've got a sheet of stamps already and was just wondering how many to put on.

Thank you though.

A first class stamp is currently 76p. I googled for you.

I think we’re not understanding what you’re asking.

charmsofasimplelife · 02/11/2020 17:04

@doodlejump1980 ah so I need an air Mail sticker too? Thank you!
I'll just pop into the post office tomorrow.

OP posts:
GreyishDays · 02/11/2020 17:06

Or just write ‘air mail’ in capital letters.

charmsofasimplelife · 02/11/2020 17:06

@GreyishDays I have a sheet of 1st class stamps already at home and just wondered how many stamps I would need to stick on an envelope for it to be delivered to Germany.

As PP said I need an air Mail sticker, I'll just pop into the post office tomorrow and ask there Smile

OP posts:
GreyishDays · 02/11/2020 17:07

Ok. Just seems a bit lazy to make everyone else google for you. I thought there was more to it. Never mind though. Smile

JayAlfredPrufrock · 02/11/2020 17:08
  1. And write Air Mail
charmsofasimplelife · 02/11/2020 17:11

@GreyishDays seriously? Is there any need to be rude?
If you read I've already said I looked at that particular page so have googled and I just couldn't see how many stamps to stick on....

Bloody hell, I'll just ask at the post office tomorrow. I was only seeing if anyone might post letters to Germany and know off hand.

OP posts:
MummyL29 · 02/11/2020 17:13

Op said she’s already seen that page, so she obviously has googled to the PP being rude about her being ‘lazy’

dementedpixie · 02/11/2020 17:22

Google how much a 1st class stamp is, put on enough stamps to cover the cost shown and write AIR MAIL on the envelope. What more do you want us to do for you!!!??

dementedpixie · 02/11/2020 17:25

Put 2 stamps on as 76p x 2 = £1.52 which is more than £1.45. Write AIR MAIL.
Use Google!

charmsofasimplelife · 02/11/2020 17:34

@dementedpixie someone else said I might need an air Mail sticker.

I've already said I'll check at the post office tomorrow.

I'm not sure why you're being so rude. Or if your intending to be so rude.

This is ridiculous, I really didn't need a fight on here, it was just a simple fly away question if anyone had posted to Germany before, I don't even post letters usually.
I've had the day from hell with 2 young kids and I'm 3 months pregnant and now I'm actually bloody crying over a stupid mumsnet post about a bloody stamp. I give up.

Thank you for your time to respond. I promise you I did look online I'm not incredibly lazy. I just couldn't find specifically what I was looking for.

Oh OP I’m sorry, I don’t think people think before they speak sometimes and forget there’s an actual person behind the question.

I don’t think you need an air Mail sticker but it’s a good idea to check just incase.

I hope you’re feeling better soon Flowers

LzzyHale · 02/11/2020 17:41

No you don't need a sticker, just write airmail, top left corner.

dementedpixie · 02/11/2020 18:34

@charmsofasimplelife, OK sorry if I sounded snippy with you, please don't cry Flowers
You want to cover £1.45 of postage so 2 first class stamps should cover it - put 3 if you want to be really really sure
You dont need an airmail sticker and can just write AIRMAIL at the top of the envelope

Feawen · 02/11/2020 22:45

I’m glad you asked OP, I have been trying to look this up and thought the instructions on the Royal Mail website were unclear.

I don’t really want to go to the post office, the one in town is always heaving, so if I can use normal stamps to the correct value and just write airmail on the letter I’d much rather do that! Cheers 🍻
