Anyone else’s winter blues kicking in?

I’ve just sat down and admitted to myself that I’m fairly depressed. It’s very common to me this time of year, but I managed to get away with it last year.

I was absolutely fine at the weekend spending time with family and able to laugh and have some energy but get back to Monday-Friday and I just want to curl up in to a ball!

I have messaged a few friends today to ask how they are as it seems to lift me hearing their good news and what they have been up to etc.

Anyone else feeling this? I think I just need to know that I’m not alone.

No because I’ve started a new regime of running 5k every morning, taking vitamin D, a strong multivitamin and St John’s Wort and sleeping under a weighted blanket and I feel awesome. I’ve always really suffered with SAD and this year, there is obviously the potential for me to feel even worse but so far it working. I don’t know what I’ll do when the weather gets too bad for running though, my feet already got soaked today!

That’s brilliant I’m really happy to hear something is working for you! Grin

I have to admit we have been slacking on the vitamins for a while now and funnily enough I have just ordered some vitamin D tablets from amazon so I can catch up with months of not taking anything. It has helped in the past.

Running I can’t do unfortunately as I have my child here and working from home. I managed to do a few workouts here and there last week but I’m struggling with the motivation and the energy

I definitely recommend a Berocca style multi vitamin too (supermarket own rands are the same and much cheaper).

I’m lucky that DS has just started high school and his bus leaves at 7:50 so I can go for a run before work. It does make all the difference though. I wasn’t able to go during half term as we had to sort out the mess our tenant had left our property in and I definitely felt snappier!
