Red light cam

Hi all,

Please no bashing. I’m already worried sick and feeling crap :(

Was waiting at traffic lights with a van infront. He started moving and I thought it was green light and started to move too. He drove off and I continued until I saw a flash and stopped. Also noticed a car drive across the road from the side. Looked back and saw red lights!

I’m so annoyed. I know there is a red light camera there but I’m careful anyway. Can’t believe it :(

Would it be worth appealing when it comes through the post?

I got my licence July 2019 so hasn’t even been two years! :(((((((

I am afraid there won't be any grounds for appeal as you did drive through a red light and there are not really any mitigating circumstances (I.e making way for emergency services/ avoiding collision etc).

I think you just have to take this one on the chin and remember to always look at the lights yourself and not trust the person in the front is not jumping the red.
