Are there any words that annoy you so much, that when someone says this particular word, you just want to punch them in the face?
I have two words that makes me want to punch people in the face ....

  1. diaper Literally I detest both of them!

Mine are
Wall
Ball
When said multiple times by Danny Dyer.
Great idea for a game show, but why choose someone who is unable to pronounce two of the most frequency spoken words on the show!

Can't stand the following words/phrases:

Holibobs
Girlie (surely easier just to say girl?!)
Hubby
Bubble
Chippy tea
Picky
Pamper

plutodust · 24/11/2020 19:35

gently.

In books or messages on here. For example "I'd gently ask you" really winds me up.

Lipz · 24/11/2020 19:36

HOT CHOCOLATE, I want to rip people's faces off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

midsomermurderess · 24/11/2020 22:32

Drool. So many food/what's for dinner posts on here have people 'drooling'

Itsnotalwaysme · 24/11/2020 22:38

Draw for drawer. Just fuck off and say the full word Blush

L4uz · 24/11/2020 22:40

Holibobs
Staycation
Famalam

And not a word but the phrase "making memories"... eugh 😑

MusicTeacherSussex · 24/11/2020 22:42

Quarantine instead of lockdown. Makes me rage!

Mollypolly2610 · 24/11/2020 22:49

Bubble or even worse Bubbling

Glutted · 24/11/2020 22:51

@L4uz Famalam isn't a word I've heard for years! I'm now intrigued to know which region still uses that as part of their vocabulary.

Amazeballs
Innit
Chillax

haircutsRus · 24/11/2020 22:54

Funnily enough I was just thinking about a word that really annoys me.

Pupdates.

As beloved by the Guide Dogs for the Blind advert on the telly. Sponsor a guide dog puppy and you get "regular pupdates". It is so buttock-clenchingly twee.

Elouera · 24/11/2020 22:56

Innit
You get me?
Yous

MrsCrosbyNRTB · 24/11/2020 22:59

Weirdly was thinking of this today!

Baguette I really really loath this word. It’s so pleased with itself. “I had cheese with baguette” grrrrrrr makes me want to punch the baguette and drop kick it into a canal.

Tasty just awful

Belly literally disgusting

Welly boot just fucking say welly OR boot!! Not both!!! Why the need???

Socket revolting

Nom/s for food. You are a wanker

Anything on the lines of holibobs, famalam, hubby, anyone in really like who really say “Darling Husband” . I judge you.

Hmmmmm. I think I have a few issues...... I’m sure there’s more.

L4uz · 24/11/2020 23:59

@Glutted granted I don't know many people that actually use it but I'm in South Yorkshire and I see it crop up on my Facebook feed every so often 😆

sorryforswearing · 25/11/2020 00:49

Necking

Spewing

Fartintheloft · 25/11/2020 00:58

Reader! As in ‘and dear reader’ or ‘but wait for it reader’.
No idea why but it makes my insides quiver with revulsion! Envy

NuniaBeeswax · 25/11/2020 01:01

Sunmoonstars77 · 27/11/2020 15:11

@Riapia yes I hate toasty ! Also cosy but I don't know why!

Sunmoonstars77 · 27/11/2020 15:14

I have more...
Poorly sick
Nom nom
Chill
A woman I know takes a pic of her and her daughter's hair after they've been to the hairdresser and puts 'fresh trims' as the caption! I've had to unfollow her !

Making memories is another irritation!

Pringwells · 27/11/2020 15:19

Cohort when referring to school years.

Referring to kids taking GCSE exams in maths and french as Mathematicians and Linguists. Often seen on the education threads, ‘Good luck to all the mathematicians today,’...

The apparently increasing tend of spelling thank you as one word.. thankyou
