Help me with ideas for a family event night/day!

We have decided to each plan one night/day event for our family. We can do anything inside, in the garden or locally (walking). It has to stay secret until the reveal to the family. There are 4 (5) of us - me, husband, 16 year old boy and 12 year old boy (plus 19 year old not living at home who can join us remotely but doesn't have to).

I need ideas!! Please help!

Online escape room?

Wiifitmama · 01/11/2020 19:23

Thanks for responding! Ok, we have tried geocaching before and not liked it. Yes to the escape room - we planned to do a Christmas one online. But I have a feeling one of my kids might choose that for their night so I want to pick something different.

If helpful, we have a big garden and are creating an outdoor coach area with fairy lights and a heater. No idea what to do with this though!

Love this! We did a mini festival during the summer lockdown with different zones like the festival we normally go to, with some bunting and signs pointing to each area. Most of it was inside as it rained although we did camp in the garden. Might be a bit cold for that though?

Oooo- I love that idea! What sort of things did you have in the zones?

In fact, my boys are all folk musicians and we normally do summer folk festivals. I wonder if I can theme it around that with different zones? We can listen to music in one zone, have a "street food" zone (in the kitchen), a ceilidh zone for dance. Hmmmmm.......I could even do a printed programme!

Do you have Alexa? She has problem solving 'games' you can play together.

We made a coconut shy in our garden in the summer!
