Ideas for DS's 21st Birthday

Poor DS has his 21st birthday on 2nd December so we won't be having any big celebrations for him, just a nice meal at home. We had promised to take him to New York for his birthday but that has obviously been put on hold.

We have asked DS what he would like as a gift but he has not come up with any suggestions. He doesn't wear jewellery or watches etc. I've said to DH that we should give him money but he's not keen. He feels we should buy DS something to "keep" but I can't see the point of spending money on something he doesn't really want.

Can I ask what sort of things you bought your DS's for their 21st birthday and may be you will inspire me!

Other threads suggest cuff links, cabin luggage, keepsake book of photos, wallet. I’m interested to hear ideas too, as my son is 21 in January and would like to maybe buy a small keepsake plus cash (as you suggest).

Dd is 21 next year, she wants a personalised number plate so we’ll contribute/ buy it depending on cost,

Not my taste but at least it’ll be a keepsake.
